Kali ini, saya tengah terkesan dalam terhadap sebuah lagu yang dinyanyikan oleh group band bergenre Post-Hardcore: Pierce The Veil. Yaaa..saya memang tengah tergila-gila dengan band asal Amerika yang satu ini, lirik-liriknya sering membuat saya feel deeply, think hard, scream in the heart loudly.. Penuh makna!

Tapi untuk lagu yang satu ini, memang benar-benar istimewa: Just The Way You Are

Bisa ngerasain ga sih betapa dalam makna dari lagu ini? Sang cowok sedang menggambarkan betapa istimewanya cewek yang ia kagumi, karena apa adanya diri sang cewek. 

Beda banget sama realitas yang sering kita lihat dan hadapi, dimana seseorang dianggap istimewa jika ia cantik, pintar, kaya—dan segala label berkelas lainnya—melebihi dari yang lain. Efeknya apa, kita jadi suka pasang topeng di depan pasangan. Hanya ingin memperlihatkan yang baik-baik saja, berusaha menjadi sosok yang sesempurna mungkin sekalipun itu jika harus menyiksa diri dan melakukan hal-hal yang tidak kita sukai, menjadi pribadi seperti apa yang diinginkan pasangan. Akhirnya kita seperti pedagang yang berusaha mempromosikan produk, memoles diri sebaik mungkin agar disukai. Menjadi diri sendiri pun bukanlah sesuatu yang penting, seolah diri sendiri yang apa adanya tidak cukup berharga untuk dicintai. Ngenes! Makna cinta pun jadi absurd gara-gara orang seperti itu.

Terutama ketika mendengar penggalan lirik yang satu ini:

Saya sendri merasa memiliki sebuah perasaan yang hangat, bahwa ternyata setiap diri kita adalah berharga dan istimewa, Just The Way I am dan saya yakin masih ada orang-orang yang akan menyayangi kita dengan tulus, Just The Way I am—karena kita memang pantas mendapatkannya.

Ada kalanya kita  merasa ga percaya diri, merasa inferior, merasa ga pantas dicintai dan mendapat perhatian, merasa ga sepadan dengan orang-orang lain, entah karena merasa memiliki banyak kekurangan, ga bisa diandalkan atau terlalu sering melakukan kesalahan sehingga merasa kurang disenangi. Bahkan bagaimana jika kita adalah orang yang 'sakit', entah itu secara fisik, mental atau kepribadian? Tapi bagaimana jika pada saat itu, ada seseorang yang cukup spesial menyatakan:
